MIAMI FOOD CO. FOOD SAFETY vs. GROCERY STORES

We believe our service is fundamentally safer because our meat, seafood and portion packaging have never been touched. Our fully encased product goes from our storehouse to delivery vehicle to your door, delivered by a single Miami Food Co. employee wearing a mask and gloves.

But grocery shopping in the age of coronavirus is different. There could be 4-6 grocers touching your food, plus crowds of shoppers, making social distancing physically impossible in narrow shopping aisles.

At grocery stores, food is unpacked behind the scenes by a stockist (Person 1), may be placed in retail display cases by another stockist (Person 2), might be picked up, examined and put back by multiple retail shoppers (Persons 3, 4?), is placed in a shopping cart which may or may not have been disinfected, handled by the cashier for scanning (Person 5), and handled by the bagboy (Person 6).

At this moment of uncertainty, braving grocery store crowds and checkout lines is simply not advisable.
